About LocalPDF
LocalPDF is a free toolkit for working with PDFs — converting images to PDF, merging and splitting PDFs, deleting/reordering/rotating pages, viewing PDFs, and extracting text — directly in your web browser. There's no sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how many files you can process.
Why is it free?
Every tool here runs using JavaScript libraries loaded into your own browser, not on a server we operate. Because we're not paying to process your files, there's no per-use cost to pass on — the site is instead supported by advertising.
Your files never leave your device
Every operation on this site happens locally, using open-source libraries (pdf-lib and PDF.js) running in your browser. Your files are read, processed, and downloaded entirely on your own computer or phone — at no point are they uploaded to any server. We can't see your documents, because we never receive them. See How it works for the technical detail.
Who's behind this
LocalPDF is an independent, small-scale project focused on doing PDF basics well, privately, and for free. It's also part of the LoomFile family of free, private, in-browser file tools. If you have feedback or run into a bug, see our Contact page.
